Meet the Carolina Crew
Coach Alexis Montgomery

Alexis is 26 years old and originally from Chester, SC. Alexis was an all-star cheerleader for 13 years at several elite gyms. After high school, Alexis attended Coastal Carolina University where she obtained a bachelors degree in Special Education. During her time at CCU, she was on the cheerleading team for two years. She currently teaches special education at Aynor High School while also attending graduate school at Coastal Carolina University to obtain a Masters degree in Severe Disabilities.

Jha is 28 years old and has moved around quite a bit. She cheered competitively for 12 years and had the opportunity to cheer at multiple gyms, both D1 and D2. She graduated high school in a small town outside of Columbia SC. Jha then went to Coastal Carolina University where she earned her Bachelor's of Science in Psychology. She cheered all 4 years of college.
Now a days Jha gets to hang out with her daughter, Luna, who you'll see plenty of.
Coach Jha is so excited to spread the love she has for cheer with Carolina Athletics!

Choreography, Stunting and Tumbling

Mel is from Rock Hill, SC. He studied Recreation and Sports Management at CCU. He's been cheering since age 16, which includes 2 years at Cheer Athletics Charlotte and 3 years at Coastal Carolina University Large Coed, where he was Captain for the '22-'23 season. Mel has been coaching at Carolina Athletics since season 2, as our in-house choreographer. He has brought a new flare to the teams and we are excited for another season.
Mel is available for stunt and tumble privates!
Co-ed Stunting and Tumbling

Stephen is from New York and has been cheering since age 15! Before his cheer career, he was an elite gymnast. So, he is well versed in the tumbling world. We are excited for him to bring his background and experience to our mat this season!
He cheered for Coastal Carolina University for 4 years where he was named Captain and competed in the hardest division of competitive cheerleading.
Stephen is available for stunt and tumble privates!

All-Girl Stunting and Tumbling
​
Laila is from Columbia, SC. She currently attends CCU, with a major in Sports Communication. She has been cheering since age 4, and coaching since age 16. Her cheer career led her to Rockstar Greenville and Cheer Extreme Raleigh.
Laila has an extensive cheer record, including 4x Cheersport Champion, 1x NCA, 3x Majors Champion, 1x Grand All Girls Majors Champion, 2x Summit Champion, 2x Silver Worlds Medalist and a 2024 World Champion.​
We are excited for Laila to bring her top-notch experience to our gym this season.
Laila is available for privates for Levels 1-5 [she does not spot fulls], as well as stunt privates.
